At the age of seven, Michael Phelps followed in his two older sisters’ footsteps. Whitney, his oldest sister, competed in the 1996 olympics at the age of 15. Once Phelps got into the water he took off like a fish. At a young age, Michael knew what he wanted to achieve and what he wanted to reach for. He’s an inspiration to many young, aspiring swimmers. Even at the age of 27, he continues to set goals for himself and continues to reach them.

No matter how old you are, keep in mind that the world can be yours: and no, I don’t mean as a material thing, but as a reach for the stars, over the fence, World Series kind of stuff. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Always push yourself, or your family, to shoot for the moon, and never settle. Always remind yourself that you can do great things.
