Most businesses are very strict, stressful, and lack fun, to be frank. Bosses are hard-headed and unimaginative, not because they enjoy being up tight, but because they know how they want their business to be run. In most corporate offices they don’t have a casual Fridays, because they want to keep the dress code business professional.

Then you have those businesses that don’t care what you show up in as long as you show up and do your job. The work environment is much more relaxed. These offices are becoming more and more common as Millennials are starting businesses and moving up in management.

One of the most laidback and easygoing jobs that I’ve ever had is the one I have now. During the week, I’m required to dress business casual, but on Friday, I’m very lucky that I can wear jeans, Uggs, and t-shirt if I so desire. My hours are set during the week and my weekends are free to enjoy without the stress of work. Although we get busy and are very dedicated to our work, we still find time as a whole corporate office to get our team together and engage in team-building activities.

For example, a couple of weeks ago, we all went go-karting. Yes, it sounds like fun, but we did have teams and had to strategize how to divide our time equally to give each person enough time to race. More offices should adopt these practices since the more fun you’re able to have with your coworkers and manager, the more productive you’ll be. It makes the hard work so much more rewarding.
