Once again, Colorado lets us know that winter’s sticking around. Watching the snow fall last night was beautiful but my mind quickly turned to the morning drive. My spouse turned on the news in the morning, and sure enough, traffic was horrible. Being in the insurance industry, I often wonder to myself—where do people learn how to drive? This country has become so fast paced that we forget to slow down and take in the joys of day-to-day life. I believe if everyone let off the gas just a bit, life would be a little more peaceful.
When leaving for work in the morning, leave a few minutes early. You want to leave ample time in case the road is messy or you run into any holdups, like accidents or ice. Take your time during snowy weather because you never know exactly what conditions you’re driving into. When we take our time, there are less accidents, making for an easier commute. Just remember to leave at least several car lengths between you and the driver in front of you in case of a sudden stop.
While driving safely is imperative, also take some time out of your day to breathe in the cold air and admire the fresh, powdered snow that’s graced the Denver area. Not every state gets to experience this!
