It seems like you can’t go anywhere without seeing credit cards in use. You travel out of the country and they’re the main form of currency. Although paying with credit cards or debit cards is very convenient; it can also be risky.

I’m sure you take all the precautions when using your card; meaning you make sure you have money in your account, are careful not to overdraft your account, and put the card back in to your wallet after using it so you don’t lose it. Anyone can steal your credit card information and it can happen in the blink of an eye. You would have no idea until either you received a bank statement or a call from the credit card company asking about the $25,000 purchase you just made at Best Buy when clearly you’re at home and your card is in your wallet.

All it takes is a random stranger standing next to you with a “pick pocket” scanner and all of your credit card information will download into the device, leaving your money in the hands of the scammer. The only way to prevent this from happening is to either wrap your credit cards in aluminum foil or to buy an RFID wallet.
